Board of Trustees

Lehigh Carbon Community College is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of representatives from each of the college’s 13 sponsoring school districts and two at-large representatives. The trustees work with the administration to ensure that the mission of the college is effectively translated into working policies to best serve the needs of the college’s constituents.

Samuel P. DeFrank, Chair

Samuel P. DeFrank represents the Salisbury Township School District and has served as a trustee since 2014. He holds a master’s degree in business from Rider University. He is currently employed by Wacker Chemicals Corporation, where he serves as a sales account executive.

Audrey L. Larvey, Vice Chair

Audrey L. Larvey represents the Palmerton Area School District and has served as a trustee since 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She is retired from the Palmerton Area School District, where she served as a high school social studies teacher.

Sharon L. Albert, Secretary

Sharon L. Albert represents the Allentown School District and has served as a trustee since 2023. She holds an M.Phil. in medieval studies from University College Dublin. She is employed at Muhlenberg College where she serves as director of advising in the Office of the Dean of Academic Life and as senior lecturer in Religion Studies.

David J. Hein, Treasurer

David Hein represents the Parkland School District and has served as a trustee since 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University. He is employed at Fidelis Care as a senior manager-financial planning.

Daniel C. Bosket

Daniel C. Bosket was named a trustee-at-large and has served on the board since June 2021. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration degree from St. Joseph’s University and serves as director of the Community Action Development Corporation of Allentown.

John W. Corby

John W. Corby was named a trustee-at-large in July 2024. He started his college education at LCCC and later obtained his superintendent’s letter of eligibility from Lehigh University. After serving many years in education as a teacher and administrator, Corby finished his career as superintendent of schools in the Whitehall-Coplay School District. Since retiring from the school district, Corby has served as an interim superintendent for several school districts.

William P. Fonzone, Sr.

William Fonzone, Sr. represents the Whitehall-Coplay School District and has served as a trustee since June, 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University, Emmitsburg, Maryland. He is retired from Lindenmeyr/Munroe Corporation where he served in sales for the paper and packaging industry.

Mathias J. Green, Jr.

Mathias J. Green, Jr. represents the Northern Lehigh School District and has served as a trustee since 2002. He is retired from Verizon, where he served as a pay telephone salesperson.

Dr. Barbara C. Kistler

Dr. Barbara C. Kistler represents the Northwestern Lehigh School District and began her service to the board in July 2018. She holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Albright College, a master’s degree from City College of New York and a doctoral degree from Lehigh University. Dr. Kistler is a retired professor emeritus from LCCC where she served as professor of mathematics and dean of academic services.

Matthew T. Korp

Matthew T. Korp represents the Catasauqua Area School District and has served as a trustee since 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Seton Hall University. After a long career as a radio news and sportscaster, he is retired as the director of communications with the Catholic Diocese of Allentown.

David L. Krause

David L. Krause represents the Lehighton Area School District and has served as a trustee since 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife biology from Michigan State University. He is retired from Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC, where he worked as a sales manager.

Michele Mazzola

Michele Mazzola represents the Jim Thorpe Area School District and began her service as trustee in December 2023.

Paul R. McArdle, Jr.

Paul R. McArdle Jr. represents the Panther Valley School District and has served as a trustee since 2020. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics with a minor degree in mathematics from King’s College and a Master of Education degree from DeSales University. He is employed at Palmerton Area School District where he serves as a high school social studies teacher.

Kenneth H. Mohr, Jr.

Kenneth H. Mohr, Jr. represents the Southern Lehigh School District and has served as a trustee since 2000. He is retired as president of Mohr Management Resources, a management consultant specializing in project and program management.

Ann L. Thompson

Ann L. Thompson represents the East Penn School District and has served as a trustee since 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and psychology from Muhlenberg College and a Master of Education degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She is retired after having taught music, social studies, and fourth grade.
